The heart of Hammock Bay is the championship golf course. Named one of
the "Top 10 New Private Golf Courses in the World" by Travel & Leisure
magazine, the course at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club offers up a
unique golfing experience. The Peter Jacobsen / Jim Hardy designed
championship course features one of the highest golf course elevations in
southwest Florida. The approximately 6,900 yard, par 72 layout features
native flowers and plants, in addition to lush SeaDwarf Paspalum turf for
superior playability.
With an emphasis on the boundless beauty of the area’s natural environment,
the golf course at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club is designed to provide
an enjoyable challenge to all golfers, regardless of their level of play. The
course, designed by Peter Jacobsen & Jim Hardy, is a par 72 Championship
golf course with 18 individual and distinct holes.
The contours, shape and orientation of the course greens were designed with
the approach shot in mind. The green surroundings are also fashioned to

Multiple tees are provided at each hole, allowing increased playability for juniors, seniors, and beginners, while offering a
challenge to low handicappers and professionals. Bunkers are strategically positioned to challenge the risk taker and, in
some cases, direct the placement shots-all intended to add to the course's visual appeal and uniqueness.
Hammock Bay is utilizing Sea Dwarf Paspalum, a variety of turf new to the industry. This turf allows up to 50% less
irrigation than other turf grasses in the area. Another unique feature of Paspalum is the ability to water with salty or
undesirable water sources. This allows us to utilize the Mid-Hawthorn Aquifer for irrigation of golf course. Hammock Bay
took advantage of the opportunity to use this less desirable water source, placing less demand on an already dwindling
source of safe, potable drinking water. The amount of effluent or reclaimed water needed for irrigation was also reduced.
The golf course at Hammock Bay opened for play in 2004 and is located in Naples nestled among the surrounding
beauty of McIlvane Bay and the Ten Thousand Islands.
